Translator’s Note

Here, Koupen-chan is saying “hoppeta ochichau ne” (ほっぺたおちちゃうね), which is a Japanese idiom meaning something is very delicious. It literally translates to, “My cheeks are gonna fall off~”

Polar Bear-san: Oh my… Yes, here’s some water. Adult-san, when you drink, you should have a bit more water… Earlier, while drinking water, I was also something something with… something …including edamame…helps with breaking down something…*

TN: Some of the things marked with an asterisk (*) are a best guess since they’re sleep-talking and it’s unclear what they’re saying exactly.

Regarding what Polar Bear-san is talking about, I looked it up, and edamame (young soy beans served in the pods) does indeed contain an amino acid (methionine) and some vitamins (B1 and C) that supposedly help with breaking down alcohol. So I figure Polar Bear-san means to say they were eating edamame while also drinking water with their alcohol.

Here’s one page about it: https://echigofarm.blogspot.com/2009/09/edamame-beer-best-friend.html

C: Day 3, Morning: “Present“

“You and Koupen-chan finished having breakfast. Then, it seems like everyone has something to talk about…?”

C: Day 3, Afternoon: “Checkout”

“Let’s put on your matching “Giant Snowflake Pom-pom Hat“ with Koupen-chan, and leave the inn with everyone.“

Koupen-chan: Ta-da~! Does it look good on me, I wonder~ Thank you for such a wonderful hat~!

C: Day 3, Evening: “The Trip Back Home”

“After leaving the inn, you and Koupen-chan and friends did more sightseeing, ate, and spent some time. However, it’s already time to go home…“

C: Day 3, Late Night: “Sleeper Train”

C: Day 4, Morning: “Getting Home”

“This concludes ‘Your Winter Trip with Koupen-chan’! Thank you for joining us. ❄️ I’m sure you’re tired after the trip, so please take it easy and rest, okay~ 🍀“

Koupen-chan: Let’s eat the souvenirs with everyone~!

Yokoshima Enaga-san: Your backpack became quite stuffed, huh…
